The International Day in Support of Victims of Torture is observed every year on 26 June.
The day expresses solidarity with people who have suffered torture and calls for the complete eradication of torture worldwide. It also reminds governments of their duty to prevent torture, punish those responsible and provide rehabilitation to survivors. The theme for 2026 is "Torture: a crime against humanity."
