Save
The Indian Navy has taken delivery of 'Samarthak', the first Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) designed and built in India for the service. The ship was constructed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) at its Kattupalli shipyard, located near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Multi-purpose vessels support a range of naval tasks, and the induction of Samarthak marks a step forward for indigenous warship building. It also highlights Tamil Nadu's growing role as a shipbuilding hub for the country's defence forces.
