India Records Highest-Ever Wind Capacity Addition of 6.05 GW in FY2025-26

Save

India added 6.05 gigawatts (GW) of wind power capacity during the financial year 2025-26, the largest annual addition the country has ever achieved in this segment. With this record, India's cumulative installed wind energy capacity has gone past 56 GW. The milestone strengthens the share of clean, non-fossil sources in the national electricity mix and supports India's wider renewable energy and climate commitments. Wind power remains one of the key pillars of the country's energy transition alongside solar energy.
