India launched the Biovigilance Programme of India (BvPI) in New Delhi during the 6th National Pharmacovigilance Week. BvPI will track adverse events linked to biological products used in organ and tissue transplantation, with the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) leading the monitoring. It complements the existing Pharmacovigilance and Materiovigilance programmes that cover medicines and medical devices respectively.
