India has contributed $35.18 million to the United Nations Regular Budget for 2026, earning a place on the 'honour roll' of 51 member states that paid their assessments fully and on time. The General Assembly approved a regular budget of $3.45 billion for 2026, covering core costs of the General Assembly, Security Council, Secretariat and International Court of Justice. Assessments depend on factors such as economic size, per capita income, external debt and development level, and states in arrears for two years lose their General Assembly vote.
