As part of its BRICS Presidency in 2026, India hosted the International Governing Board (IGB) meeting of the BRICS Network University (BRICS NU), together with a conference on Traditional and Indigenous Knowledge Systems. The BRICS Network University links higher education institutions of member countries for joint teaching and research. At the meeting, members reviewed the BRICS Network University Action Plan for 2025-2028 and adopted the BRICS Network University International Governing Board Declaration, setting the direction for academic cooperation among the grouping.
