As the BRICS Chair for 2026, India hosted the 12th BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers' Meeting (LEMM) in Hyderabad. The ministers discussed social protection for workers, raising workforce participation, skill development and the use of digital technologies for the benefit of workers. The meeting was held under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability (BRICS)", an expansion of the bloc's own acronym that India has adopted for its chairship year.
