India Gets First Alzheimer’s Disease-Modifying Therapy (Donanemab) and First Subcutaneous Lung Cancer Immunotherapy

Two notable medical launches have taken place in India. Donanemab, sold under the brand name Lormalzi, has been introduced as the country’s first disease-modifying therapy for Alzheimer’s disease, a treatment that targets the course of the illness rather than only easing its symptoms. In another first, Roche launched Tecentriq SC, India’s first immunotherapy drug given under the skin (subcutaneously), for treating lung cancer. Subcutaneous delivery offers an alternative to giving the medicine through an intravenous drip.
