India took part as an observer in the first meeting of the Board of Peace, set up by US President Donald Trump, held in Washington. The board aims to support the reconstruction of Gaza and to address conflicts around the world. India backs the Gaza Peace Plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803 but decided against full membership. The board has 27 members, among them Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey and Pakistan, while 22 countries such as the UK, Germany and Japan joined as observers. Observer status lets India engage diplomatically while keeping flexibility in India-US ties.
