India has approved its first utility-scale Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Energy Storage System (VRFB BESS) project, with a capacity of 100 megawatt-hours (MWh). The project will be set up at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat. Battery storage of this kind helps store solar power and supply it when needed, supporting the integration of more renewable energy into the grid.
