A Social Security Agreement between India and the United Kingdom was signed in New Delhi. Under the pact, employees sent on temporary assignments of up to 36 months to the other country will no longer have to pay social security contributions in both nations. This keeps their coverage uninterrupted and makes it easier for workers to move between the two countries. The agreement is tied to the broader India–UK trade deal and will enter into force at the same time as the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
