Save

India and China arrived at an eight-point consensus during the 25th round of Special Representatives' talks on the boundary question in Beijing. Both agreed to keep peace and lower tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Two more military meeting points and two new military hotlines will be set up in the Eastern and Middle Sectors. The Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination (WMCC) will continue border-management talks, an Expert Group on Boundary Delimitation will take up boundary issues, and the next Expert-Level Mechanism meeting on trans-border rivers and hydrological data will be held in September 2026.
