Following the death of its Chairperson, Justice S. Tamilvanan, the Vice-Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes has been entrusted with the Chairperson's duties. Vice-Chairperson Imayam (V. Annamalai) will handle these responsibilities temporarily. The order was issued by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department of Tamil Nadu. The Commission works to protect the rights and welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the state.
