IIT Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh was the venue for the 5th BRICS Working Group Meeting on Geospatial Technologies and its Applications. Delegates from the BRICS member nations discussed ways to deepen cooperation in using geospatial tools and data. The focus areas included disaster management, agriculture, urban planning, transport and environmental monitoring, where satellite imagery and mapping technologies can improve planning and decision-making. Hosting the meeting reflects India's role in promoting technology-led collaboration within the BRICS grouping.
