Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati have built "E-Eye", an inexpensive and portable optical sensing device. The instrument is designed for quick detection of toxic substances and carcinogenic heavy metals, offering a practical tool for on-the-spot testing without the need for costly laboratory equipment.
