Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has named A. Vijayaram as a State Information Commissioner. The appointment was made using the powers given under Section 15(3) of the Right to Information Act, 2005, and Vijayaram took his oath of office before the Governor at Lok Bhavan.
In a separate notification, the Governor prorogued the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly with effect from 13 March 2026, formally closing the session that had opened on 20 January 2026.
