Google launched the America-India Connect project to strengthen digital and AI infrastructure links between the US and India, backed by its five-year US$15 billion AI infrastructure investment in India. It includes a new international subsea cable gateway at Visakhapatnam and new cable routes linking India with Singapore, South Africa and Australia, plus four fibre-optic routes connecting the US, India and the Southern Hemisphere. Visakhapatnam is expected to become a major global subsea hub. Separately, L&T partnered with NVIDIA to build India's first sovereign gigawatt-scale AI factory.
