The 10th Global Report on Food Crises (GRFC) was released by the Global Network Against Food Crises with European Union support. In 2025, 266 million people across 47 countries faced high acute food insecurity, or 22.9% of the population assessed, higher than in 2024. About 1.4 million people in six regions were at the Catastrophe level (IPC Phase 5), and over 39 million in 32 countries were at the Emergency level (IPC Phase 4). Famine was confirmed in the Gaza Strip and Sudan. Conflict, weather extremes and economic shocks were the main drivers. Around 35.5 million children and 9.2 million women faced malnutrition.
