ISRO intends to launch GISAT-1A (Geo Imaging Satellite-1A) in September 2026, resuming launches after a recent pause. It replaces GISAT-1 (EOS-03), lost in the GSLV-F10 mission of August 2021, when the cryogenic upper stage failed to ignite due to a valve leak that lowered liquid-hydrogen pressure. Flying on GSLV Mk-II, GISAT-1A will give wide-area views of India for tracking floods, cyclones, agriculture and forests. The flight will test rocket reliability, orbit placement and imaging, and matters ahead of the NVS-03 mission for NavIC.
