The G20 Innovation Ministers' Meeting was held on 1-2 September 2026 at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. Ministers adopted an Innovation Ministerial Statement spanning six areas, including pro-innovation policy, emerging technologies, skilled workforce, Artificial Intelligence, Intellectual Property and industrial innovation. Consensus was reached on the Carolina Principles for Emerging Technologies, AI Prosperity Objectives and the AI Prosperity Compact. India held talks with the EU, France, Germany, the African Union and the US on AI, semiconductors, Digital Public Infrastructure and research cooperation.
