Former Member of Parliament J Santosh Kumar has been conferred the title ‘Global Green Icon’ at the World Climate Leaders Conclave held in the United Kingdom. The recognition was given for his contribution to afforestation and climate action through the Green India Challenge campaign. The honour highlights the growing international attention being paid to citizen-driven greening movements from India and to their role in tackling climate change.
