The first phase of development works at Silver Beach in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, has been completed. The beach is being developed as a Blue Flag beach under a pilot project of the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).
- Blue Flag is a globally recognised label awarded to beaches that meet standards on cleanliness, safety, environmental management and visitor facilities.
- The completion of the first phase moves Silver Beach a step closer to joining Tamil Nadu's list of beaches developed to this standard.
