New Delhi hosted the first-ever Home Ministers' Meeting of BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation), which ended with the adoption of the Delhi Declaration 2026. The grouping has seven members: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. The declaration deepens joint action against terrorism and its financing, money laundering, cyber fraud, and trafficking of humans and drugs. It seeks better intelligence-sharing, rescue and rehabilitation of victims, and legal cooperation including extradition. It also backs security training and partnership with UNODC, INTERPOL, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Asia/Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG).
