Iya Krish, an eight-year-old girl from Thrissur in Kerala, has reached the summit of Mount Toubkal, becoming one of the youngest climbers from Asia to do so. Mount Toubkal lies in Morocco and is the highest peak of the Atlas Mountains range as well as the tallest mountain in North Africa. The climb places the young mountaineer among a small group of Asian children to have completed the ascent and brings attention to the growing interest in adventure sports among Indian youngsters.
