Noted educationist S.S. Rajagopalan has died. He was part of the committee that designed Samacheer Kalvi, Tamil Nadu's uniform system of school education. He also served on the technical committee of the All-India Forum for Right to Education and was known for his long advocacy of equitable public schooling. Samacheer Kalvi brought the State Board, Matriculation, Oriental and Anglo-Indian streams in Tamil Nadu under one common syllabus.
