Public health expert Dr. Chandrakant Lahariya received the Wiley Research Heroes Prize 2025 in the 'Impact Beyond Academia' category, becoming the first Indian to win it. The prize honours researchers whose work shapes public policy and society. A former WHO official, Dr. Lahariya works on immunisation programmes, maternal and child health and primary healthcare. Other 2025 awardees were Dr. Namrata Pathak, Dr. Khulood Alsayegh, Dr. Nandita Garud and Dr. Emmanuel Peprah.
