Dindigul district has introduced ‘Dindu’, a mascot modelled on the Slender Loris, to encourage voter awareness and greater participation in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The choice of the animal also honours the district's conservation work. It recalls the Kadavur Slender Loris Sanctuary and the first Slender Loris Conservation Centre, which was inaugurated on 7 March 2026. The mascot thus links the message of responsible voting with public attention to protecting this small primate and its habitat in the district.
