The 1,750 MW Demwe Lower Hydroelectric Project on the Lohit River in Arunachal Pradesh received an 11-year extension of its environmental clearance, now valid until 2037. The project was first cleared in 2010. Separately, Bela Gram Panchayat in Maharashtra's Bhandara district was showcased at Mumbai Climate Week 2026 as India's first net-zero panchayat, having won the Carbon Neutral Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar in 2024.
