The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the national nodal agency for cyber incident response under the Ministry of Electronics and IT, dealt with more than 29.44 lakh cyber incidents in 2025. CERT-In was set up in 2004 and functions under Section 70B of the IT Act, 2000. Internet connections in India crossed 100 crore (100.29 crore) by 2025, up from 25.15 crore in March 2014. The WEF's Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2025 highlighted CERT-In's use of AI-based situational awareness systems.
