The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched ‘Abhay’, an artificial intelligence (AI) based chatbot meant for the public. Using the tool, citizens can verify whether a notice claiming to come from the agency is genuine or fake. The initiative aims to protect people from online scams, especially frauds that misuse the name of the investigating agency. It reflects the growing use of AI in public-facing law-enforcement services in India.
