The Union Cabinet has approved a five-year extension of the Immigration, Visa, Foreigners Registration and Tracking (IVFRT) Scheme, from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031. IVFRT, first launched in 2010, is a digital platform that manages visa, immigration and foreigner registration processes to improve efficiency, security and monitoring of foreign nationals. The extended scheme will use modern tools such as mobile services and self-service kiosks for quicker immigration clearance.
