The Bihar Museum in Patna stood 9th worldwide and topped Asia in The World's 100 Best Museums 2026, compiled by Germany-based Worth a Journey. It is the only Indian museum on the 2026 list. Museo Nacional de Antropología (Mexico), Museo del Prado (Spain) and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark) took the top three spots. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, came 10th and the Louvre, Paris, 31st. Located on Nehru Path in Patna, the Bihar Museum was designed by architect Fumihiko Maki with Mumbai-based Opolis Architects.
