Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh is the pilot district for the World's Largest Grain Storage Plan in the Cooperative Sector, with a 500 MT godown built at the PACS level in Parswada. The plan converges the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, which offers PACS interest subvention on storage loans, and the Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure Scheme, whose PACS subsidy has been raised to 33.33%. Decentralised storage aims to cut post-harvest losses and prevent distress sales.
