Aqua AirX Autonomous Systems has launched Avataar, described as India's first amphibious drone. An amphibious drone can operate both in the air and on water, which allows it to take off from, land on and move across water surfaces. Such platforms have potential uses in surveillance, coastal monitoring and search-and-rescue, and the launch adds to India's growing ecosystem of domestically developed unmanned systems.
