The Asia Africa Agri Alliance has been established to promote agricultural trade, cooperation, investment and technology exchange between Asia and Africa. It is set up as a not-for-profit body under Section 8 of the Companies Act, to provide structured frameworks for partnerships and policy alignment. The alliance will work on strengthening agri-food value chains and sharing knowledge and technology. Asia and Africa together account for over 40% of global farm output, and agricultural trade between the two regions exceeds US $90 billion a year.
