Indian mountaineer Arpita Patra has become only the second Indian woman to reach the top of Nevado Ojos del Salado, recognised as the highest volcano in the world. She climbed to an altitude of 6,893 metres to complete the ascent. The peak stands on the border between Chile and Argentina in the Andes mountain range of South America. Her climb adds to the growing list of high-altitude achievements by Indian women mountaineers on international peaks.
