A pilot plant for making Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) magnets has been established at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI).
- NdFeB magnets, made from neodymium, iron and boron, are the strongest permanent magnets.
- They combine very high magnetic strength with strong resistance to demagnetisation.
- Based on the production method, they are of three types: sintered, bonded and hot-pressed.
- They are widely used in mobile phones, earphones, hard drives and electric vehicles.
