India held the second meeting of the UN's GI-AI4FS (Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Agri-Food Systems) in New Delhi, alongside India Mobile Congress 2026, co-hosted by TEC (Telecommunication Engineering Centre) and ICAR. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) coordinates the initiative with FAO, IFAD and the World Food Programme (WFP). It seeks to promote AI tools for farming that are responsible, trustworthy and centred on farmers. Delegates took up governance, working groups and priority areas, building on the first meeting held in Rome, Italy, in June 2026.
