The fifth edition of Swachh Sagar Surakshit Sagar was held from 12 to 19 September 2026, with coastal clean-up drives at 231 locations across 13 States and Union Territories. About 15 lakh people took the Ocean Conservation Pledge during the campaign, which focused on coastal cleanliness and protection of the oceans. The campaign was reviewed at the Monthly Review Meeting of Scientific Ministries and Departments in New Delhi. The meeting also noted the proposed Digital Library of Scientific Achievements, with CSIR-NIScPR as the nodal institution.
