A total of 448 students from Tamil Nadu's Government Model Schools cleared JEE Main 2026. The State runs 38 Model Schools, one per district, following its 'Dravidian Model' of education, partly inspired by Delhi's school reforms. They have labs, libraries, smart classrooms and hostels, and offer special coaching for competitive exams to help students enter premier institutions. The 'Vetri' Schools initiative has also helped many students gain such admissions.
