Every year on 4 October, the world marks World Animal Day. The occasion is dedicated to advancing the welfare of animals, safeguarding them from harm and encouraging people to treat them humanely. For 2026, the chosen theme is “See the World Through Their Eyes”. The theme asks people to consider life from the standpoint of animals themselves while thinking about how human actions affect them. The day is used by individuals, organisations and governments to draw public attention to animal protection and to promote kinder, more responsible behaviour towards both domestic and wild animals.
