Under Mission Mausam, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology has built India's own automatic weather stations using 3D printing. The stations run on solar power and send live readings of temperature, wind, humidity and rainfall. The first set will be installed in Delhi from February 2026. Mission Mausam is a ₹2,000 crore programme of the Ministry of Earth Sciences to improve weather observation and forecasting.
