India's installed electricity generation capacity from non-fossil fuel sources has gone past the 300 gigawatt (GW) mark. More than 55 GW of this capacity was added in 2025–26 alone. The national goal is to reach 500 GW of clean, non-fossil capacity by 2030, and solar and wind power are expected to make the biggest contributions towards achieving that target.
