Save

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi opened the eighth edition of Windergy India 2026, a wind energy exhibition and conference held in Chennai. The event comes as India works towards a goal of 100 GW of installed wind power capacity by 2030. As on 30 September 2026, the country's total installed wind capacity stood at 59.20 GW. The financial year 2025–26 set a new record, with 6.05 GW of wind capacity added in a single year. Tamil Nadu, the host State, is one of India's leading wind power producers, making Chennai a fitting venue for the sector's flagship gathering.
