International Coffee Day was observed on 1 October with the International Coffee Organization (ICO) campaign “Coffee is Part of the Solution.” The ICO says coffee supports around 12.5 million farming families worldwide. In India, coffee is grown mainly in Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with some cultivation in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and the northeastern states. India produced a record 3,63,500 metric tonnes in 2024–25 (1,05,700 tonnes Arabica and 2,57,800 tonnes Robusta) and exported 3,88,925 tonnes, including re-exports, to 126 countries. Finland leads per-person consumption at about 11.9 kg a year.
