India and Pakistan exchanged lists of their nuclear installations on 1 January 2026 under the Agreement on the Prohibition of Attacks against Nuclear Installations and Facilities (signed 31 Dec 1988, in force 27 Jan 1991). The two countries exchange these lists every year on 1 January as a confidence-building measure, through diplomatic channels in New Delhi and Islamabad. They also exchanged lists of prisoners under the 2008 Consular Access Agreement.
