India hosted the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, with its chairship built on four pillars: Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability. The New Delhi Declaration covers cooperation in global development, peace, health, climate and technology. Leaders voiced concern over rising nuclear-conflict risks and sought protection of civilian infrastructure and peaceful nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards. India highlighted an infectious-disease early warning system, integration of disaster early-warning data, a logistics supply-chain framework and a digital agriculture network. PM Modi cautioned against weaponising technology and critical minerals, which could disrupt supply chains.
