V.O. Chidambaranar Port in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, has set a national record by handling 147 windmill blades from a single vessel. This is the highest such volume unloaded from one ship at any port in India. It beats the port's own previous record of 103 windmill blades, set in November 2025. The blades arrived on the vessel MV Bo Run Jiu Zhou from the Port of Qinzhou in China. V.O.C. Port is recognised as India's leading port for handling windmill blades, supporting the wind energy sector.
