Tamil Nadu Police has designated Helpline 1091 as the official helpline of the Singappen Special Force (SSF), the State's dedicated unit for the safety of women.
To ensure quicker communication and faster action in emergencies, the 1091 helpline has also been linked with the 112 Emergency Response System (ERS). With this integration, distress calls received on 1091 can be coordinated through the single emergency response network, helping police reach women in need more quickly.
