Tamil Nadu's Naagam mobile platform will bring 100 trained snake rescuers on board. The Forest Department unveiled the app in July 2025 to make wildlife rescue more technology-driven and to improve scientific data collection on snakes.
- The platform is modelled on SARPA, Kerala's snake rescue application.
- It is expected to shorten response time and help researchers understand where snake species are distributed.
- Full operation is likely within four months, ahead of the monsoon, the season when rescue calls usually rise.
